Our Dogs ATM

Image
Our Dogs ATM Variety is the … The four dogs in the photograph are from left to right, 'Archie' English Springer Spaniel 'Amber' Staffordshire Bull Terrier 'Ava' Belgian Malinois and 'Ozzy' Belgian Malinois German Shepherd Mix. These dogs along with a couple of Rottweilers 'Maggie' and 'Coalack' are my small pack, with individuals coming and going through the system to be trained or sold on. Our Dogs ATM Having different breeds and temperaments living alongside you gives you an opportunity to learn more about them as breeds and individuals. One of my favourite tips to offer new owners is to 'watch your dog' see what they do and how they behave and interact with both other dogs and you and their environment. You can learn a lot just by watching what they do, how and when.

are malinois smart

are malinois smart Belgian Shepherd Malinois - Awesome dog are malinois smart  When asked this question I often have to stifle a chuckle, I know I shouldn't but I often do, why? well because I know from that initial question I have to seriously judge the person asking it. The Belgian Malinois is one of the most intelligent dog breeds there is. Look around at who has them!...I mean... take a look!... Just about every law enforcement agency in the world for a start, now would they be using a dog breed that wasn't intelligent? But in all honesty I would suggest that the Malinois was perhaps not the best dog breed for them to look at owning and that more research was needed on their part.  What breed of dog would you recommend for Protection or Security work? is another often asked question, my answer is usually... If you wanted something a little more 'Hardcore' and genetically sound than the old favourite the German Shepherd, then I could not recommend t...

My Belgian Shepherd Malinois, AVA

Image
Belgian Malinois Ava This is my Female Belgian Malinois Ava. At this date 2/7/2019 she is 7 .5 years old and is a trained Protection /Security dog, but as we have both retired from operational duties she lives at home with me and my family and 3 other dogs. She has been neutered and after her last litter we decided to have her done, this was about 4 years ago. We thought long and hard about it and decided that as we have 2 entire males living at home we would have both our 'girls' done, reducing both the risk of unplanned pregnancies and reducing the mess. One of the results of neutering is a tendency towards being overweight in both females and males, this has been exaggerated in Ava's case as she has also retired from being very active ( my fault entirely ) so as she has got older I have had to monitor her weight gain more than normal, we all suffer from this I guess. But as far as any pre conceived ideas I had about her scarring I am absolutely del...
