When Modern Culture and Popularity Destroy Breeds.  I remember about 35 years ago, it may be more now actually wow!, any way approximately 35 years ago I had a Rottweiler as a pet and I had been after one for about 2 years. A s any good caring dog owner should, I had done my research, would this dog be compatible with my lifestyle? could I give it everything it needed? did I have the resources, both time and financial, to look after this breed of dog? The answer was a big YES! After further research on breeders I read in the canine papers and magazines (remember those days before the internet??) who were known in the dog world as successful breeders and the kind of aftercare they offered, I eventually tracked down a very prominent breeder of Dobermans and Rottweilers about an hour and a half drive away with, you guessed it a litter ready to be picked prior to leaving mum in a couple of weeks later. Trip duly made, pup duly picked, a girl that I named, NYSSA, after a chara

Our Dogs ATM

Our Dogs ATM Variety is the … The four dogs in the photograph are from left to right, 'Archie' English Springer Spaniel 'Amber' Staffordshire Bull Terrier 'Ava' Belgian Malinois and 'Ozzy' Belgian Malinois German Shepherd Mix. These dogs along with a couple of Rottweilers 'Maggie' and 'Coalack' are my small pack, with individuals coming and going through the system to be trained or sold on. Our Dogs ATM Having different breeds and temperaments living alongside you gives you an opportunity to learn more about them as breeds and individuals. One of my favourite tips to offer new owners is to 'watch your dog' see what they do and how they behave and interact with both other dogs and you and their environment. You can learn a lot just by watching what they do, how and when.

What we do with our pups that show any promise as a potential candidate for protection or security work, is start them on a training programme tailored to their individual strengths. For different dogs this could mean a totally unique regime from their brothers or sisters. It does not take too long to bring them all under the same plan, but for those first few weeks we cater for their individuality.

are malinois smart

are malinois smart Belgian Shepherd Malinois - Awesome dog are malinois smart  When asked this question I often have to stifle a chuckle, I know I shouldn't but I often do, why? well because I know from that initial question I have to seriously judge the person asking it. The Belgian Malinois is one of the most intelligent dog breeds there is. Look around at who has them!...I mean... take a look!... Just about every law enforcement agency in the world for a start, now would they be using a dog breed that wasn't intelligent? But in all honesty I would suggest that the Malinois was perhaps not the best dog breed for them to look at owning and that more research was needed on their part.  What breed of dog would you recommend for Protection or Security work? is another often asked question, my answer is usually... If you wanted something a little more 'Hardcore' and genetically sound than the old favourite the German Shepherd, then I could not recommend t

are malinois good pets

are malinois good pets Are Malinois good family dogs? - Truth http://www.youtube.com/c/cerberusk9uk This question is getting asked more and more as people see them in films such as the recent John Wick series with Keanu Reeves. Firstly the Malinois is one of four different varieties of Belgian Shepherd, the Groendaal, Laekenois and Tervueren that get their names from areas of Belgium where they originated. Used as working dogs on farms for herding and guarding they are very fit agile and intelligent dogs. When offering advice or infact being given advice I would highlight that last sentence as a spoiler alert...Look at the very words as to how they were bred and for what purpose! As it is the Malinois that we are looking at here ( the Laekenois, Groendaal and Tervuren have their own specific values and identities with popularity and rarities being higher in some than others ) with respect to ' are Malinois good family dogs?
