[help] I am constantly stressed over my dogs wellbeing.Dog Talks
Hi all. first post!
I have a wonderful, energetic beagle. He’s just about 1y 5mo, and he is lovely. But there is a downside, I cannot ever stop thinking about his wellbeing. Be it whether we’re laying down, on a walk, playing, even just standing there I’m constantly fearing he is sick or something is wrong. Every time I look at him the thoughts run through my head “is he breathing ok? why is his tongue slightly less pink? does he seem out of it? why is he licking his paws?” as soon as I have a thought like this my stomach begins to turn with fear that something is wrong with him and I start feeling nauseous. Of course I google the supposed symptoms and that leads me on a tangent of “what if it’s this? or this?” all of which results are usually terrible health problems or something as simple as allergies, then I start thinking about calling the vet but again, what if it’s nothing? then I’ll just look like a paranoid maniac calling the vet 4 times a week because my dog sneezed funny. I know this is irrational but I simply cannot stop it, and to be completely honest it really is getting to me, to the point I’m contemplating if I should even own a dog for my own mental wellbeing. I love him more than life itself and I would be devastated to be away from him but I cannot cope with this constant stress.
