[Fluff] My shelter gifted me a crate! It was very sweet.Dog Talks

I went in to walk a few dogs today. I’d moved recently, and one of the workers asked me about it. I told her it was fine, but sadly my crate didn’t make the trip. It fell apart during the move, but I said it wasn’t a big deal because my dog doesn’t stay in his crate much anymore.

She responded and said, but crates are so useful, even if your dog is fine in the house. I said she had a point, but dropped it because I don’t like complaining, but what she said is super true. My dog might not use his crate daily, but it is really nice to have around. If he’s getting a raw bone or kong, I use his crate. If I’m going to have guests that walk through my apartment, I use his crate. When I’m cooking and there’s food out everywhere, I use his crate. If he just took a bath and is wet, I use his crate. When I’m annoyed by him and don’t want to deal with dog, I use his crate. It’s super handy to have around for a lot of reasons, but I didn’t want to spend money on another one for him because they’re kinda expensive, at least right now.

Either way, we went on to talk about other things, and I didn’t think much of it. But when I was getting to ready to leave tonight the front desk lady told me there was a guy waiting for me outside.

I went outside and he had an extra large crate, and asked if I needed a different size or if this works. I told him it must be a mistake, I wasn’t fostering or anything, he must be looking for someone else.

He said no, the ladies inside heard my crate had broken, and they told him to bring this one out for me as a replacement.

It was very nice, I wanted to cry a little bit. I was not expecting it at all, and no one said anything to me. I messaged that worker a thanks, and she said “no problem, just let us know if you need anything else, times are tough right now.”

Really sweet, right?
