I adopted a dog that is perfect... for me.

I picked her up after medically separating from the military for PTSD. She was found in a dumpster, after having just given birth to two puppies, also in the dumpster with her. She never got attached to her puppies, probably because she was thrown into the trash after having them. Those puppies were adopted very quickly.

But Foxie has issues trusting people, and although she's never bitten, she does show her teeth. She's definitely all bark and no bite. Just like me.

I've been with her for four years now, and she is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I thought she was going to help me with my anxiety, but I've learned that we are helping each other. Our traumas are different, but our anxieties are very similar.

We're both kind of hermits, and more like cats, than a human or a dog. We're both very aloof, and only want attention when we want it. My family actually calls her a "catdog," shout out to the Nickelodeon show.

So, we live here in an apartment, which is honestly more hers than mine, working on each other together. She is perfect for me, and I love her more than anything in this world.
