[HELP] Help my dog deal with me moving away temporarily https://ift.tt/eA8V8J I have a 1 year old cockapoo who is my shadow. We do everything together. I live at home with my parents and siblings, and my dog loves all of them, but he and I have a much stronger bond than anyone else. At the end of this year I’m going to have to move out for about 6 months for work, and I can’t bring my dog with me. I’m worried he’s going to struggle to cope since he already has separation issues, especially with me. Of course he’ll be well looked after and be with people he loves, but I just worry that initially he won’t know what to do since we do everything together, he even sleeps in my bedroom. Because of covid we haven’t been able to practice me going to sleep over somewhere else, so not sure how he’ll deal with bedtimes etc. Anyone have any tips for things we can start now/closer to the time for him to cope better? I’ve heard horror stories of dogs becoming sick and worse when their owner leaves and I’m worrying for him. dogs
