[Help] Can I handle my dog on my own? https://ift.tt/eA8V8J Long story short, my parents got a dog back in May but my moms allergies could not handle him (she decided this after a couple weeks). I decided I would take him when I moved out, which should be soon as I just graduated college and am job hunting. I had always planned to get a dog when I moved out, so it's not like this is a new idea for me. He is a mini/standard poodle mix and almost 8 months old now with crazy energy. He currently gets 1 to 2 walks a day and plenty of play time but still has a lot of energy left. I am destined for apartment life for awhile and my parents don't think he will be suited for it. I plan to walk him twice a day and live close enough to work that I can come home for lunch. I am also planning to send him to daycare once or twice a week if he shows no signs of slowing his energy down. Obviously mini poodles can be highly energetic, but I've also read that he is at peak age for puppy energy. He was certainly calmer when he was younger. Basically I am second guessing whether I can handle him when I live on my own in an apartment. There are times when he's acting out that I think about whether I am making a mistake by taking him, but those feeling quickly pass when I think about living without him. I love him so much and can't stand the idea of him not being a part of our family, and since my mom can't keep him it's up to me to keep him with us. I just want to make sure I can support him properly. I'm not really sure the point of my post other than to vent this I guess and look for advice. Anybody ever dealt with a similar situation or cared for an energetic dog on their own? Also do you imagine he would calm down as he gets past the puppy stages? Thanks. dogs AW12345AW
