[Help] Red flag from breeder or just them being responsible? https://ift.tt/eA8V8J I messaged a corgi breeder asking if I could visit their home where they breed the pups and they said they don’t allow visitors. Full context: Hi, To answer your question about coming to see us: Because we have pregnant females here, and then infant and baby corgis who have not been vaccinated, we cannot allow visitors, just as necessary health precautions. We limit visitors just to the new parents when they come to pick up their vaccinated 8 week old puppies. Even then, we have to quarantine everyone else for the visits.:0) That being said, we do, of course, show photos to the adoptive families whose names have come up on the waiting list, and as much as possible, allow them to choose from several puppies. If their ideal color or sex is not available, they can always choose to wait for another litter, too. It is always my goal for each family to get the puppy of their dreams! Another thing I do is that once you have chosen your puppy, I send you photos every few days so you can watch it grow. I am the only breeder I know who does this, but I think it is important for bonding. :0) Our waiting list is out to next Spring, now. Companion corgis with regular coats are $1700 or $2350 for a fluffy. If you are interested in getting on the list, please fill out the application on the website. Do you guys think this sounds shady or is it normal? dogs
