[help] 7mo old puppy died from getting neuteredDog Talks

Please someone help - not sure if there are any vets in here. I got a French bulldog in March and he quickly became the love of my life and my best friend. He has had no previous health conditions and was the happiest puppy ever. I took him to our family vet to get neutered this morning. 2 hours later I get a call saying that his heart stopped after he received the anesthesia and he died. I am completely devastated because I know how common this procedure is. Can someone please provide some advice. Is this normal? I’ve been blaming myself all day because I regret taking him in so much. Advice from a vet would be fantastic too. Do I get an autopsy?? Thank you. I’m heartbroken. I've got a sweet baby angel of a Havanese that came into my life when she was around 8. She is my first dog that I've had as an adult and even as a self-professed animal lover, I'm legitimately shocked at how much I've grown to love her. Like I did not know that someone could feel this strongly about a pet. She's 12/13ish now, so my partner and I are starting to come to terms with the fact that she's not going to be around forever, but she should be around a while yet and other than some dental issues and anxiety is just a picture of perfect health. She still runs speed laps around the park (albeit a little more slowly) and loves to play and do tricks (or try to, at least). A few weeks ago, she had a round of tests done because her urine had previously had some very slightly higher-than-normal levels that could indicate kidney issues. The vet called back to say that doggo's blood had a high white blood cell count. She went on to say that it's usually n...
